Have a fabulous birthday card

Morning everyone! It's a glorious day for once here in England and I am loving how everything is bathed in brightness!

Craft Superstore had some of the older Hero Arts stamps up on sale, so I bought a few stamp sets from them. Excellent service, great customer services and I got my order delivered to me in 2 days!  And the shipping was free too :D I have been playing with my new stamps since I got them yesterday, I can't stop making cards! Here's one card I made today:

All stamps Hero Arts: Designer Block S5213, Clear Design CL128, CL131, CL277
Inks: Distress Inks Dusty Concord, Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo and Barn Door, VersaFine Vintage Sepia
Star Dust Stickles, Inksentials Enamel Accents

It's probably not very obvious but I carefully went over the sentient with Staedler Fineliners, lighter colour on the top and a darker brown at the bottom. I love the effect that it gives :)

I based my card LO on this sketch guide from Hero Arts' April Contest

I was inspired by the second sketch from the left.

After posting the above card, I went to have a look at Hero Art's blog and saw the  Fresh Inspiration Friday post, and was immediately hit by the urge to create a card! I love the shabby chic look of the sofa and I love that the frame is white., plus all those sumptuous pillows are of course to die for! Lily Pad cards also posted their first Color Throwdown challenge (love the name!) and the colours are very similar to HA's Inspiration Friday. I love the happy colours: very fresh and spring-like! Here's what I created:

Stamps: Hero Arts: Classic Fabric Design CG245. Clear Design CL131, CL292.
Scallop frame stamp from 7gypsies 97% Certifiable Oval clear stamp set
Inks: Distress Inks: Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Dusty Concord, Barn Door, Rusty hinge, Victorian Velvet, Vintage Photo
VersaFine: Vintage Sepia and Onyx Black, StazOn Jet Black.
Star Dust Stickles, Inksentials Enamel Accents

I have yet to find baker's twine here in the UK, so I decided to make my own using my embroidery floss stash. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

  4. Hi Tania. Those cards are gorgeous. I really like them.
I had difficulty finding bakers twine over here but I have just ordered some from http://www.ribbongirl.co.uk/
They had such a good selection of colours including red, white and blue!! LOL!! Had to buy some of that! Very patriotic!!
They also had a nice selection of buttons and charms too! Had to order - the postage was pretty cheap too!
