Randomly selected commenters will have the opportunity to win a $20 from Simon Says Stamp or their choice of stamp set from Paper Smooches or their choice of stamp set from Lawn Fawn!
I'm 28 years old, so I don't consider myself young anymore, but I do feel "young" in the crafting industry. I started my blog a couple of months ago and began posting my work on more public forums. It is wonderful to share ideas and learn new tips and techniques from so many talented crafters. To be a part of the crafting community makes me so very happy, and it feels good to be truly appreciated by peers. Special thanks goes to Britta and Marie for organising this blog hop!
My all time favourite crafting "thing" has got to be Distress Inks. They come in delicious colours, and I end up using them on every single project that I create. If you own some Distress Inks, I would suggest investing at least one Distress Ink tool and a Ranger Non-Stick Craft Sheet as well. I can't imagine crafting without them, as they are part of my essential tool kit.
On with my project! A couple of months ago I had bought a thimble display rack from a thrift store across the road from where I work. I have a much larger one too, but I wanted to make something that I could finish in just one sitting. I cleaned and then gesso'd the rack first and let it dry. I them went over the entire rack with Pitch Black Dabber paint. Here's a before picture:
And here's my completed project:
I used Wow Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Powder to emboss the butterflies and then I inked them up with Distress Inks. I added some Tim Holtz Ideaology goodies and a metal label holder from my staff. I glued everything on with Claudine Helmuth Matte Medium.
Here are some of my favourite projects that I created:
- These Pretzels are Making Me Thirsty!!! cross stitch
- Fabulous Birthday and Celebrate all day cards
- Time to Celebrate card that won a Hero Arts challenge
- Grungy Envelope Mini Album I bound with tissue tape
- Warm Thought Box Card
Do keep leaving comment love on the other blogs as well for a chance to win some awesome prizes from Young Crafts Unite! Also, If you leave a comment here and subscribe to my blog, your name will be entered into a separate draw, and one lucky person will win a $20 gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp! Last date to enter into the draw is Monday June 4th 11.59pm BST. I will pick a winner and announce the winner on the 6th! Good luck everyone :)
If you stumbled across my page and want to participate, the blog hop begins with Marie!
